Rossi

Bay Area R&B artist Rossi Simon, 25, has definitely been on the rise for fame. Raised in Richmond,CA, Rossi strives to be an international artist. He constantly hustles by continuously performing and putting songs on the radio.  You've probably heard his song "Out the door" ft IAMSU on 106 KMEL. Rossi is a singer, writer, and performer. He is influenced by only the greatest, Michael Jackson, as well as R. Kelly, and Ne-Yo. One thing that makes Rossi stands out is his use of research. He likes to use the 90s music vibe with "today's baselines so everyone can relate". He wants the Bay Area to have the fun aspect of music, just enjoying the groove and sound. Rossi doesn't limit his music to a particular theme, or mood. He wants you to be able to listen to his music whether you are with your friends, cleaning up the house, going to the club, leaving the club, or for the "baby-making" mood.

An all around artist is what he wants to be known as. It is important that this artist goes far in his music career, because of how passionate he his. At 7 years old, he tried singing just a little bit, and since nobody told him to stop, he kept going. At first, he wanted to do football, but it didn't quite workout as an outlet to deal with the domestic violence, and living in and out of hotels that he went through as a child. Growing up wasn't so easy either, as he aimed to be a father to his son, while vowing to never have to deal with homelessness or abuse again. Rossi believes that by doing what he loves, he will be able to help others, and especially give his son the life, and father that he never had.

As of now, you can find "race for your love", and "love" on youtube (just click the link), and a new mixtape coming up called "Bad, Cruel Play" inspired by michael Jackson, Bobby Brown, and R. Kelly.

Outrageous Karina

17 years, and turning around Bay Area music, Karina Flonnoy aka Outrageous Karina is truly San Jose's Finest. The young female rapper started writing at 9 years old, and has continued to grow ever since. She describes herself as a "true spitta", never toning down her raps, striving to be more than just mediocre. She raps to let people know that they should be true to themselves, always, and for the ladies, she says, "we can do whatever we want & we can do it just as good, if not better than the boys". Karina has performed with artist such as Philthy Rich, Yukmouth, Dru Down, Lee Majors, Dem Hoodstarz at the Bluntworld 3 Music Fest.

Raised in a split home, Outrageous Karina has two different types of music. Her mother, is very supportive, and encourages her to continue her music mission. Her dad on the other hand, has quite gotten used to it, but one day she plans to show him that her music is not a waste of time. She is a strong-minded person, who gets her influences from Eve, and E-40. Her fast rapping style is inspired from Ludacris, Twista, and Eminem. Not only is Karina a talented rapper, but she is also a very influential person. She advises other newcomers to stay professional, positive, and in the company of supporters.

DSB Click

DSB click, or better yet, Dem Shady Boys, have been going hard with their music since 2005. Ja'Prell, 22, aka Prell BeenMobbin, and Jeremy, 20, aka Miister, make up the group. The most significant aspect of this group is that they are cousins. Jeremy is from Oakland and Ja'Prell is from San Francisco, but they won't let the bridge destroy their bond, so you can say that they believe in family first. The two became a duo after realizing that hanging out in the streets was plain boring, and had too much talent to go to waste. They started to become aware of their surroundings, and believed it was time for a change. It took maybe a month to start actually getting in the studio and making songs. They believe in making all around music that anyone can listen too. They don't want to lose any fan base.

Although they have been through a lot, and have been in the streets, that isn't the only thing that they want to rap about. They have the "baby-making" songs too, like "Beat it Down".  Their motto is that they are regular people, who rap about what they know. Also, they are working to become more radio-friendly so that they can open their talents to a broader fan-base. Eventually they will be on the radio, because they see themselves on BET very soon. Some of their major influences are Mac Dre, Michael Jackson, and Tupac.

Everything that they do for their music is by themselves. Using their own money, self-made beats, and creating their own lyrics, DSB is very original. You can look forward to hearing more music with a new mixtape in August.

The Truth

The Truth, a new talented duo raised in Oakland,CA is bringing a new type of sound to the Bay Area. The two met on myspace, quickly learning each other's similarities, and putting their talents together. Whitegurl Ash, and Naya make up the group, creating a unique female duo that the Bay Area needs. Speaking on topics that is usually saved for the male Bay Area hip- hop artists. Finding songs to write about isn't hard for the two, because they write about things that they actually experience, making their songs raw and passionate. Just listen to "Livin it Up","Ballin", and "On Me".

This duo has been writing since they were kids. Whitegurl Ash, 20, used to write poems since she was 9 years old, and turned those into raps, expanding her talents. Naya, 20,  has been consistently rapping since 12, maturing her talents more, and more. They call themselves The Truth for a simple reason, they speak the truth. As soon as they met, they put their talents together. They want Bay Area women to feel like they can be apart of the rap game too, because so many believe that they can't, or won't even try. The Truth on the other hand, want's to show that they will not quit. Proving the people who say that they "can't do this" wrong.

The Truth shows non-stop originality by their own personal style, wearing lipstick that matches their outfits, adding to their modern day pin-up girl style. They wanted their own original style, and found something that they both liked, and worked from there. Going hard everyday, these two envision themselves on a big screen very soon. They want to do shows, become mainstream, and become worldwide.

You can find their music on their facebook page, or on youtube

BAY AREA STAND UP!: Rayven Justice

Rayven Justice

Rayven Justice, Bay Area's true renaissance man is a rapper, singer, clothing designer, and true business man. In just a few years learning his many talents, Rayven has truly became the Bay Area's own star. But he doesn't just stop in the Bay Area, he is determined to becoming an international entertainer. He is collaborating with artists all over such as Kafani in "Throw the Cash on Her", Trina in "She Bad"", and is even collaborating with Shorty Mack, an artist from Ray J's group, Knockout Entertainment.

In his freshman year of high school at Oakland High in Oakland CA, Rayven and his little brother started to make music for themselves. They were each other's support, and helped each other to grow. They had grown up around it their entire life so it was bound for him to fall in love with the mic. Rayven had started off his career as a rapper, but discovered his singing voice from a neighbor who had overheard him singing on his way home. Influenced by Chris Brown, and another bay area group, The Pack, Rayven took his music to another level by trying to grow. He believed that if they could get on tv, and were from the same area, and the around the same age group, then he could too.

Along with his music, you can find his fans wearing his "Exactly Bitch" shirts...yea, he knows how to make fashion statements too. He is no average artist,Rayven hopes to become an international artist, and to bring Bay Area's music back on the map. He wants the world to know that there is more talent, and are not to be left behind. By next year he will be on more radio stations and in more videos with his constant drive and dedication.
